@SeventhGen Healthy Baby Home Party- Generation Good

As a member of the Generation Good community,I was thrilled to host  a Healthy Baby Home Party.  I was sent an awesome package of free products tp try with my Mom Group.
We had such a great time talking about creating the best pure clean environment and how important it is for our families especially our babies.

Many Mom were surprised to learn cleaning product companies are NOT currently required to list all ingredients on the package because there are no regulations in place. can you believe that!! Time for companies to #comeclean!

Seventh Generation believes you have the right to know what's in the products you buy. They take great pride in over 25 years of
creating powerful plant-based solutions for your home & family.

A few products we discussed were wipes & diapers.

Specially designed to care for your baby and planet Free & Clear Wipes deliver the clean you need with the gentle care your baby's skin deserves.
  • Free of alcohol, fragrances & dyes
  • Free of parabens and phthalates
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Thick, strong and generously-sized

I like how thick they are --you get a GREAT wipe the first time.  Free & Clear Baby wipes use 70% less plastic than our original wipes, thanks to the use of plant materials.

Combined premium absorbency with a snug, comfy fit around the legs and adjustable, re-sealable tabs Free& Clear diapers keeps babies skin protected and dry. They are available in a print or un-printed style.

  • Made for your baby's sensitive skin
  • Hypoallergenic diapers
  • 0% lotions and fragrances
  • Ultra-absorbent core free from chlorine bleaching
  • FSC-certified

We discussed a few other products and how they have improved over the past year-

Laundry -  while still supplying the awesome safe clean they have  upgraded 100 oz. bottles to use 20% plant-based plastic made from sugar cane for greater strength—and they're still fully recyclable!  Over 90% of the greenhouse gas emissions associated with  laundry detergent are from heating the water and drying the clothes during use at home. The EnergySmart line of products is even more effective in cold water than  previous detergents to help save energy by reducing the need for washing in hot or warm water.

Celebratin National #LasagnaDay with @explorecuisine #foodie #foodporn #recipe

One thing I have learned so much about since I've started blogging is there is a National Food Day  every single day of the year; including many foods we know and love-Pizza, Ice-Cream Lasagna  & some odd ones Molasses Bar Day and  Mincemeat Pie Day
Thanks to the internet these have become so much easier for us to celebrate. National Lasagna Day coming up this Friday, July 29th rather then hit your favorite pasta restaurant try this healthier version at home. Explore Cuisine products are all vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO and made from organic ingredients. Jam packed with protein, iron, and fiber.

This recipe for Green Lentil Vegetable Lasagne from Explore Cuisine is perfect for celebrating this food holiday! With no-boil lasagna sheets, making this classic Italian dish is easier than ever.

Be a tourist in your hometown! #WesternNewYork, Break'n Eggs Creperie, #GlennFallsPark #SocialSummer

Have you ever been a tourist in your own neighborhood?  See something new, try a new restaurant, or shop in a new store. Living in Western New York many think of Buffalo right away, it is after all the 2nd largest city in NY, the Big Apple has us beat just a bit.

The surrounding area is filled with great towns and  villages. One town is Williamsville NY. Main Street is lined with cute shops. You can find  Clothes, Jewelry, Art,Toys, and many Cafés  .

This past weekend I decided to visit Break'N Eggs a charming Creperie. Went on a Saturday  during brunch  hours, was about a 20 minute wait.  I like being able to see everything the chefs do in their open kitchen. I ordered Warm Granny Smith Apple with Maple Syrup and whip cream  and a Dulce De Leche with apple candies walnut and caramel sauce. DEVINE! The little bit of tart from the apple paired well with the sweet caramel.

After such a rich brunch, I needed to move (so I would feel less guilty about those calories)

Right off of Main St is a little park, A gem I've herd about for years but only discover myself last year.  Glenn Fall, there are several ponds and concrete walking paths. The water fall and beautiful blooms make it a favorite backdrop for many wedding parties and family portraits.

What makes your town unique?  What do you love about living in your town? I think  could visit every small town and village surrounding Western New York and find a new gem every weekend.

Celebrating National Coloring Day and little learning SHhhhhhh don't tell the kids THEY THINK IT's FUN!

I love to color...always have  but I never new there was a National Coloring Day. August 2nd is - Amazing right!  Although around here we are still enjoying Summer Vacation  it is getting closer to the dreaded BTS time.... so I'd thought I'd share  these unique ideas for making coloring an educational experience for kids. [shhhhhh if it's fun they don't think of it as learning ]

There are some great sites that can help- Educents  has traditional coloring books. They also  offers educational activity books and downloadable pages that encourage learning while coloring.  There are a verity of subjects such as math, history, letters, geography, art and more. Super to keep minds sharp for the Summer on road trips  and is a wonderful tool for Homeschooling too.

these printables  are fabulous tools, because they can
be used along many stages. Introduce with just coloring, then
exploring sounds, finally there are lines for handwriting.
If you have multiple ages slide the sheets in a page protector and
use dry erase markers to color and trace again
and again

Some are free others start at about $3 for a package.

Get your creative juices flowing  with Debbie Lynn's new gigantic coloring poster- it's amazing! Coloring is good for the soul and good for all ages- plus, showcasing the final product is an inexpensive way to decorate your house. Color the poster with Debbie Lynn's long-lasting pens and colorful markers.

Plenty of bundle options to choose from- fairies, farms, and rocket ships and more.

Just think of the hours of fun your child will have
reading, coloring and completing all the
actives in these books.

Sterno S'Mores #review #TryazonParty #SmoresAnytime

The 4th of Juy is always  a big family BBQ - Independence of course but it's also my Grandmothers Birthday.
Our gatherings are full of food family and FUN! We love our backyard games. Badminton is one almost the whole family can enjoy, card games, and we added a few smore new games to the mix. We had a Marshmallow toss...much like the washers toss game but we replaced the washers with sandwich baggies full of marshmallows. We also took on  Chubby Bunny a marshmallow game made famous by Rebel Wilson. WATCH HERE

Our stuffed Cheeks!!!

Our neighborhood has a rule against open fire pits so having s'mores is not usually on the agenda at our house  yet as the sun started to set we got our S'mores kit ready.
Our guest couldn't believe it! S'MORES TIME!!!
The tray has great sections to hold each part of the s'mores. It comes with heat cans (also available for purchase separately)  and two stainless steel roasting forks.

We had a large gathering so it took a little while for everyone to get a chance, but in the end we had cooked up a bunch of deliciousness !A new s'more recipe we tried out and was a BIG hit was Salty Caramel Bacon- graham+crisp bacon+chocolate w/ caramel bar +marshmallow = YUM!

The great folks at Tryazon who hooked me up with this great product also sent over another kit for me to give away. This kit was so awesome every one wanted it so I had to be fair. To win the extra s'mores kit I had  mini marshmallows in a mason jar and guest had to  guess the number in the jar.

A little more about the product we tried out. Sterno’s new Family Fun S’mores Maker is taking this treat to the next level. Being a long time leader in the camping and food service industry, Sterno has developed this handy, innovative, easy-to-use device for any household. Using their removable heat cans, you can make as many S’mores as you wish. Indoors or out, this is the perfect way to fulfill that intense craving!
You can find these on Amazon.
