I shared a tweet about this post from Eating in LA because it was in Spanish some followers requested it in English. SO here it is
Ingredients
- A bag of toast (or we can make tortillas and then frying them).
- Fresh or frozen shrimp
- 2 finely chopped red tomatoes
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ white onion, chopped (optional)
- A few sprigs of chopped parsley (optional)
- 2 serrano chilies, scrubbed and cut into quarters
- Water
- salt to taste
Instructions
- In a food processor, add the tomatoes, garlic, onion, peppers, parsley, water and salt. Mix well.
- Besides, in a hot pan, put the butter and cook the garlic for a few minutes. Then, add the sauce and let cook on low for about 5 minutes.
- On a plate, place the toast and add the sauce with shrimp and enjoy!
This looks yummy. Do you buy frozen shrimp or the shrimp rings from the deli? I tried frozen one time and it stunk bad when I opened the package. I don't live near the coast to get access to fresh shrimp any more. :(
ReplyDeleteI've used frozen--never had a bad batch... yet
