Back -to-School time...Keeping Summer Alive part 2

Summer is winding down, and school is back in session my Nieces and Nephew started back this week!!  It seems like summer just started!!  What it doesn't necessarily mean the end of family fun! August is National Family Fun Month and I've got some suggestions for  activities for parents and kids to do together …. to keep the spirit of summer alive.

Take a Trip to the Zoo
Kids love animals. Parents love animals. Problem solved. Do it in style with Peek-A-Zoo, the super cute children’s clothing line features “headless” animals on bright colored shirts and infant onesies. They're interactive and educational with fun animal facts on the back of every shirt. Each Peek-A-Zoo tee comes packaged in an animal cracker inspired box. Peek-A-Zoo tees retail for $22 and are sold in zoo and aquarium gift shops nationwide and online

Go for a Family Hike
Nothing brings a family together like enjoying the outdoors together. But before you lace up those hiking boots, make sure you stay well-hydrated with VestPac, which allows you to carry more than a liter of water, hands-free. Besides holding plenty of H2O for the family, VestPac hydration packs also have a front pocket to fit your essentials such as keys, a cell phone and ID. $74.95.

Scrapbook Your Summer Memories

Capture the magic of your family trip to Miami beach or Lake Tahoe. And what’s better than to enhance those precious family moments than to display the water-side pictures with Beach Frames. With each beautiful design from Beach Frames your family fun moments will be grandly displayed in top quality frames expertly designed and crafted in the United States. The entire collection is made from recycled/reconstituted beach wood and fits perfectly in any home décor. Make the fun family memories last forever with Beach Frames. $29 - $169

Family Cooking Night
The family that cooks together … bonds together. Kids enjoy watching the Food Channel … now let them put their creativity to the test in the kitchen. Cook up new dinnertime delights by adding
Henry’s Humdingers raw honeys with spices to your marinades, dressings, sauces, meals and more. Team up the kiddos to try creating a meal with a grin from Grumpy Grandpa, a Spicy Red Pepper and Garlic raw honey or a dab of Diabolic Dad, a Habanero and Lime raw honey blend with some of their fantastic online recipes. All raw honey blends are created by young entrepreneur Henry Miller age 17 who also appeared on Shark Tank. $5.99 for a 6oz jar.

One More Trip to the Beach
Summer is not over yet! Plan one more trip to the beach or lake, but make sure to bring plenty of shade to block out the sun’s powerful rays. With beachBUB, struggling to keep umbrellas anchored in the sand is no longer an issue. This fantastic, portable beach umbrella base is so simple and so effective and only $19.95.

I hope you and your family can find a little time to keep summer alive!!

  4. My kids just started school this week too! It feels like summer is getting shorter and shorter. These are all great suggestions! We still have one family weekend camping trip to take at the end of the month and we are all looking forward to it.

  5. My kids have two more weeks. I am kinda sad, this summer has gone by way too fast.

We are so busy from now until the time school starts, that we won't have time for a back to school celebration. I would love to do something fun with the kids one last time.
