Summer fun! Brought to you by a Coppertone Water MOM
Is it Hot, Hot, Hot, Outside?
Around here we've had our month of "SPRING" and the great weather has come.
Here are some ideas sure to cool you and your kids!!!
First step in any outside fun-
-SUNSECREN!!!!! It is important to keep effective sunscreen available whenever you are out in the sun. I keep my family protected with Coppertone products.
I carry a lil extra in my bag in case outside play wasn't planed but happens, got to get covered. Don't forget back of the neck and top of ears...often misses and ALWAYS BURNED!
FUN AND COOL ACTIVES
These are some super fun ways to spend some time with your little ones and make some wonderful summertime memories!
FROZEN FEET
Have the kids sit at the edge of a baby pool with a little water, have them put just their feet in, give each kid a small bowl next to them, then dump a bucket of ice into the baby pool---see who can pick up the most ice cubes WITH ONLY THEIR FEET in 45 seconds.
WATER BOMB TAG
This is just like tag -The person who is "it" throws the wet water balloon to tag other players. If hit, they are the new "thrower".
POP GOES THE WATER BALLOON
Play this similar to 'Hot Potato'!
Place children in a circle and play some music
When the music goes off, the child holding the water balloon 'pops it' and splashes them self.
As children 'pop and splash'--they are out.
You can reward each child with a simple candy/sucker as they leave the game.
The last player left is the winner. (Actually all kids win in this game! =^D)

TOY WASH
Instead of a car wash…have a toy wash!--take all washable toys outside and let children have fun washing them.Children cool off...and YOU get clean toys!!!!
Yes it's a must for here in Florida! :)
ReplyDeleteI imagine it's just part of your dressing routine there =)
DeleteI must admit that I'm pretty bad at making sure we all have sunscreen on! Thanks for the reminder. Love the activity ideas too!
ReplyDeleteI'm really good the first month...then I slack a bit and that's why carrying the little bottle around is a great reminder.
DeleteI personally am not a fan of the spray sunscreen. We were in Florida a few years ago and had a fun experience with using spray sunscreen. If you aren't careful, it is very easy to miss a section on your body. Causing you to get sunburned anyways. I happened to miss the tops of my feet the day we decided to visit the beach, talk about painful the rest of our trip.
ReplyDeleteOH BOY I can feel your pain! I've sprayed while wearing socks and then taken them off and got burned feet too--NOT FUN!!!
DeleteOh, I am a readhead and I pretty much must have sunscreen. My kiddos all seem to have inherited my fair skin :).
ReplyDeleteYou must have a fine selection of wide brim hats too--- growing up my BFF was a fair skinned blondie--she lived in hats =)
DeleteI should own stock in coppertone! My daughter is so fair and a redhead...I have to keep her slathered in it whenever she is outside for any length of time.
ReplyDeletemy son is the fair skinned one in the family, but he tans rather well
DeleteI love using the Spray sunscreens. We have used coppertone for years. Its my favorite.
ReplyDelete<3 the spray because my kids are old enough to do themsleves--only have to get my son's back.
DeleteWe tried the spray last year and I LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteit's very nice-- avoid walking around with "greecy" feeling hands =)
DeleteJust had to go out and buy sunscreen for my kids, and it was Coppertone brand all the way!
ReplyDeleteI think its the goto brand for most Moms:)
DeleteMy mom used to always keep Coppertone in hand, and so have I. We've been using it every since my boys were born.
ReplyDeleteWhere we live, it's an absolute must to have sunscreen on all the time@ Coppertone lives in our cabinet!
ReplyDeleteAh! I need to pick up some sunscreen... we just got our first burn of the year last weekend :(
ReplyDeleteDefinitely need this for summer! Love Coppertone!
