My kids and I enjoy cooking together. If I'm honest my daughter cooks WAY better then I do , so finding some great spices to boost my dishes is just what Mama needs.

A lot of my my girlfriends are VERY into making  simple meals with great spice rubs. Getting together to test out a few of the spices in the kitchen was great twist on GAME  NIGHT we couldn't pass up.

We first watched this video showing how easy it is to get great flavor--

Before the party my daughter used one of the suggested recipes.

COWBOY CAVIAR a delish and ez snack.
Also a great dill dip for veggies and bread cubes.

Was fun to munch on
during cooking and game time.

One thing I thing that was very fun to do is a blindfold smelling test. See who knows their spice!
The winner got this AWESOME SAMPLE PACK! She knew 3 of the 5 they were tricky!

Then we got to cooking- we started using one of the recipes from the website with our own twist

Save the Day Cashew Stir-Fry
2 cups chopped vegetables, such as carrots, celery, onion, peppers, kale, etc.
2 Tbs oil
1/2 cup cashews
2 tsp Save the Day Chinese
6 Tbs water
2 cups cooked rice

Saute vegetables in oil for 4-5 minutes.  Add Chinese seasoning and water.  Add cashews and cook for 30 seconds.  Serve over rice.  Optional:  add any meat before cooking the vegetables.

WE HAVE NUT ALLERGIES SO WE MADE IT A BEEF & PEPPER STIR-FRY

We really enjoyed sampling some of these tasty spice mixes together.  It's wonderful to know you can make healthier choices in cooking with out sacrificing flavor.
