When families connect over breakfast, amazing things can happen #FamilyBreakfast

As a member of plateful co-op I'm proud to share information on  the Family Dinner Project, a grass roots movement whose mission is to help families everywhere access the benefits that come from connecting over a meaningful family meal, to launch the Family Breakfast Project.

CheeriosFBP

As part of the Family Breakfast Project, Cheerios will be encouraging families to take seven minutes for seven days to have family breakfast and explore the possibilities that brings. After all, breakfast is the meal of shared possibilities. It's amazing how much information can  be pulled  will be shared in just seven minutes!  I've found it's a great way for us to recheck our schedules... for sports and after-school actives, or that we still owe $25 for the school camping trip and it's due at the end of the week and for my kids to wait to the last minute to have me sign homework agendas.
It will take a few days to get in the grove...because honestly most morning we all just jump on our devices...but try the challenge...you might be surprised at what you'll learn.
also you know your kids are starting the day off with a great breakfast!

  1. We always try to have family breakfast together. My daughter is 20 months and loves eating with mommy and daddy.

  2. We use meals to check schedules. It is hard to do breakfast as my husband leaves the house by 7am, my 5 year old doesn't wake up until right then or after and the teenager needs to be up and out the door the same time as my husband, but we do family dinners!

  3. My boys get free breakfast at school so no time in the am. Dinner time is our connection time.

  4. With our huge (10 kids) family, we often found that breakfast was the ONLY time that we were all together, when the kids were growing up. I cherished these minutes as a mom.

  6. This is such a great initiative. It is very important for everyone to eat breakfast, and it's the perfect time to take a little time in the beginning of the day to make sure your day gets off to the best start.
