As the temps start to drop, one this is sure to hit EVERYONE in our family --A SORE THROAT! That means we have to stock up on throat drop....and it's usually about four different flavored drops because we all have different taste. So when I was asked to review PINE BROS I though WHY NOT!!!
In 1870 J. Herman Pine hung out a confectionery shingle on 8th Street above Walnut in Philadelphia. Along with his brother, sold their first batch of what they called 'Pine Brothers Glycerine Tablets.' In an attempt to relieve his own sore throat and those of his family members, Mr. Pine, a former determined that by combining the soothing natural qualities of glycerin with the healing properties of gum acacia, he could sooth and mitigate the mild discomfort of a sore throat. Add in some natural flavoring and a sweetener and voila, Pine Brothers Softish Throat Drops were born. The recipe has not changed appreciably since it was first introduced to the public over 140 years ago.
In 1930 Pine Brothers was sold to the Life Savers Company and continued to flourish. Known for its 'soft drop consistency,' Pine Brothers lozenges became a favorite of adults and children alike.
My son sure didn't mind...and Its ALWAYS a hassle to get him to to take a throat drop. He says they are "WAY TO HOT!!" but not the Pine Bros--"just like a chewy candy" his said. I explained they are not --its just for helping when his throat feels irritated. But I was thrilled he like them so much!
We received the Natural Honey and Wild Cherry flavors, they also come in Licorice and Lemon Citrus. We all enjoyed the wonderful flavors and how well it soothes our throat. I think now we've found the brand we all can agree on.
Product is available nationwide at CVS Pharmacy. Product retail value of each product is $3.49. You can select pucks and/or bags and one flavor or both.
Check out their Facebook and Twitter pages. They have a number of contests going throughout the year. The product is delicious, you won't be disappointed.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using
Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Great review Pamela. When our throat drop season rolls around, I check out of CVS and try them out.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen these before. I'll have to take a look next time I'm at the drug store!
ReplyDeleteWe also use drops when we get sore throats. I hate the after-taste though. Leaves my mouth so dry!
ReplyDeleteI'm going To CVS right now. My son is complaining of a sore throat so perfect time to try these.
