#Pinterest to the rescue on rainy afternoons!!!

Like many other I've become a Pinterest Addict!!! On some rainy afternoons this week it was a blessing.

"Mom what can I do??..." said mopey child looking  out at the dreary weather " NO SWIMMING TODAY- SO BOARD!"

"Let's check out my Pinterest Boards and pick a few ideas to do" said the  ingenuous Mother ( yep that's ME!)

Eggs on a Grill pinned on my FoodFun board from food.com

 white chocolate
 yellow m's candies
 straight pretzel sticks
Directions:

1-Spread wax paper on a cookie sheet.
2-Arrange pretzel sticks, laying side by side, into groups of four.
3-Melt white chocolate.
4-Drop a small amount (approx. 1 tsp) onto the center each group of 4 sticks.
5-Top each "egg white" with one yellow m.
6-Cool until set.

Roaring Campfires same board

1 (18 ounce) package refrigerated  cookie dough
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups pretzel sticks (the thin kind, broken into pieces)
1 (4 1/4 ounce) package decorator icing (yellow color with decorating tip)
1 (4 1/4 ounce) package decorator icing (orange color with decorating tip)
Directions:

1-Preheat oven to 350°F
2-Lightly grease cookie sheets.
3-Let dough stand at room temperature about 15 minutes.
4-Combine dough, flour and cocoa in large bowl; beat until well blended.
5-Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
6-Bake about 7 minutes or until set. Immediately press pretzel pieces into sides of cookies to resemble campfire logs. Carefully remove to wire racks; cool completely

Happy Birthday to my Baby!!!

Over the weekend we had very little planned--WOW that hardly EVER happens...so my daughter wanted to bake. She was more in a DECO mood so we took the EZ way out and used box cake mix and spent more time on the toppers.

After getting a few ideas from FamilyFun  she started baking.

Happiness is...HALLOWEEN

We had a very wet Halloween (THANKS SANDY) but all things considered

(for once Buffalo area wasn't having the worst weather ever) 

it was  a Happiness moment for the week FOR SURE...

  Checking out the cool decorations. For some in our neighborhood this is just as important as Christmas!!!















The bubble house was very fun...when they would land on your hand a poof of smoke would come up.

By the end of the night we were joking with Officer Rote--that he was TRIP or Treating!! He must have  fell on the slippery leaves about 10 times!!!

Wordless Wednesday --Pirate Fest

Every year the last weekend in July  Evengola State Park Host a Pirate Fest. We discovered it a few years back and its one event of the summer my son looks forward to A LOT! This year we made it a family event...hubby and daughter will usually have a Father/Daughter day but I wanted her to check it out one before she was too old for it.

before we got to the park-we had to wait for a train-TWO of his favorites in 

one day-my son was as happy as a pig in mud!!!!

Checking out some of the neat animals the "Pirates" have for pets.

They have to check out the park too- my monkeys!!

There was some fun pirate things to check out and a few  crafts,

a little time hanging out in the stocks-is it wrong I wanted to take them home LOL




Then before the pirate show we hit the beach---

the water was SOOOOOOOOOOOO nice--as you
 can see my hubby does not have the love for water like the rest of us!!!

Then it was off to see the show and bounce on the many bounce houses there.
