Happiness is...

My kids had a day off of school on Friday , so they made some flowers to deco around the house for springtime. Son was the painter and daughter went the crafty route and made duck-tape flowers!!! I love having crafty kids NEVER have to buy decorations for the house!! =)

Kids JUNK WARS

On of the new TV show favorite over the summer in our house was CRAFT WARS! on TLC. I don't know if the show is coming back (PLEASE PLEASE TLC!!!!) But "hosting" mini craft wars on a rainy /snowy/or "WHAT CAN WE DO DAY??!!" is become a event at our house.

I gathered all my crafting "junk"-leftovers from craft projects - and I challenged my daughter and niece to a craft war. They had to design a keep sake box for them selves. Now here's a lil pictorial on how it went.

 First I dumped THE JUNK-

No wood shop here...I wish I could have Michael's stock my craft room as much as they do on the show!!! So for this war it all about the glue gun-SAFETY FIRST!!!!

A busy day and the girls have a nice box to hold memorabilia in. 

But most of all ITS LOADS OF FUN!!!!

Challenge your friends, or your kids and see what goodies you can come up with. These Memorabilia Boxes are a good start but there are  limitless  possibilities.

Spring themes:

Butterflies, Bunnies, Easter Baskets, and Flowers.

Summer themes:

Bumble Bees, Rainbows, Beach fun,  and Cook out.

Fall themes:

Leaves, Apples, Acorn, and Back to School.

Winter theme:

Snowman, Snowflakes, Gift Wrap, and Christmas. 

WW Keeping Busy

Kids were home from school Tuesday because of Sandy-Thank goodness for $1 crafts to keep  them busy!
Now I'm a head in the Christmas deco department!

Happiness is.....{{CLAY MAKING}}

Earlier this week while reading  Green Eggs & Moms  my kids saw a great clay-doh recipe they  had to run and see that we had all the makings in the kitchen (WHEW WE DID!) They had SO much fun making it!! Making clay dough with your child is fun and simple. The ingredients needed are:

• 1/4 cup salt
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 cup flour
• food coloring
