Battle over a cup of milk ...#MilkSplashRecipe to the rescue. #TWITTER PARTY

Is getting your kids (or yourself) drinking enough milk a struggle!! For my kids a cup of milk is just too boring---I was so pleases to be introduced to MilkSplash!!! Calcium and Vitamin D are important for healthy bone development. With MilkSplash milk flavorings, kids have a reason to drink more milk. Mix up milkshakes with it. Combine different flavors. Can even flavor almond and soy milk! The battle over a glass of milk is NO more thanks to COCO LOCO
SIR STRAWBERRY SWIRL
ORANGE CREAM DREAM
COOKIES 'N CREAM
AND
JAMMIN' BANANA
They make drinking milk awesome!!! Look how cute they are...a few will be finding their way into stockings this holiday season.

I would like to extend HUGE THANK-YOU's to MilkSplash for sponsoring this post. MilkSplash comes in a variety of great tasting, zero-calorie fun flavors that are great for at home or on the go. Just one gentle squeeze to a glass of milk stir and you have a fun delicious treat. Aside from drinking it--SUPER FUN-- we are looking for other creative ways to cook with it.

For my Halloween snack at my Son's school, I was looking for something a little different and unique. I thought of adding the Orange Cream Dream and Jammin' Banana to cupcakes and the  frosting would be fun. 1 Box of your favorite white cake mix and a squirt of milksplash to a simple frosting recipe results are a yummy treat!
Directions: Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Mix the ingredients, add two squirts, and then pour it into pan. Bake as directed.
Mix up simple butter milk frosting:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 4 1/2 cups of confectioners suger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 or 6 tablespoons of milk
after you mix add a squirt of milksplash flavor of your choice.

Pipe onto cupcake.
Easy peasy right!? And Look how great they come out!!

MilkSplash is also holding this awesome contest where someone can win $500!! Get creative in the kitchen using at least one MilkSplash flavor. Then submit your ideas to RECIPES@VOICEBOKS.COM Then join in the MilkSplash Twitter party November 1st  (more details to follow) and see if your winning recipe is chosen.

Strawberry Bread Pudding

Ingredients
Pudding:
  • 6 cups 1-inch-cubed day-old bread (about 1 pound)
  • 2 cups milk-- add in three squeezes of Sir Strawberry Swirl
  • 3 tablespoons organic cornstarch
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced ¼ inch thick
Optional glaze:
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 tablespoon  milk
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon  coconut oil
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Place the cubed bread in a large bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the  milk with the cornstarch to dissolve. Mix in the sugar, lemon juice, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over the cubed bread and stir to coat. Let sit for at least 15 minutes to let the liquid soak into the bread.
  3. Fold in the strawberries, then pour into the pan and spread so that it’s relatively even.
  4. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the top is lightly browned and feels firm to the touch. Allow to cool a bit on a cooling rack, then serve warm. Drizzle with glaze, if using.
  5. For the glaze:
  6. Sift the confectioners’ sugar into a large bowl. Add the milk, vanilla and coconut oil and stir until smooth.

I was able to snap one pix of the yummy treat before the family gobbled it up!!
