A little while back I was asked to review and advanced copy of a young authors first novel. I read the brief description:
One baby girl.
Two strong Southern women.
And the most difficult decision they’ll ever make.
I was intrigued - and honestly most of the books I've been reading lately have tons of pictures and no more then ten words on a page. [I think Miss Molly and I read every Dr. Seuss book this week!]
I dove into Dear Carolina as soon as it arrived, from the first chapter; that is written in letter form - I was hooked!!!
The novel is about two mothers—one biological and one adoptive—Written to baby Carolina, it is a story that proves that life circumstances can shape us but don’t define us—and that families aren't born, they’re made.
While reading I found myself identify with each of the woman in one way or another. When I wasn't reading I couldn't wait to get a few free minutes to read another chapter.
