#NewYearNewMe ~My Goals in February plus a #GIVEAWAY #WINNER

Starting the New Year off with Resolutions of "Getting Healthy" is always a goal. Of course 2016 was no different then years past but I did put a little twist on my goals, making smaller changes each month and trying something "NEW TO ME"

While drinking juices and having smoothies are NOT totally new concepts-for me the "NEW" was drinking juices/smoothies with good stuff that can  provide me with loads of health benefits by upping  intake of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

So February has been all about more juices and smoothies!

The key for me was  to incorporate juices/smoothies  into  diet without totally replacing all meals.Making fresh squeezed citrus  juices was so easy with my
Tribest Citristar  I started with just breakfast for the first three days then I was having them for breakfast and lunch. I would make  up a large batch that   I would freeze for the week. My kids like smoothies too and packing a frozen smoothie in their lunch has a duel purpose keeps lunch cool and will thaw out by lunch time and kids think they are getting a special treat.

My favorite juice was a OJ and Lime with fresh mint

  1. 1/2 cup of water
  2. 1/2 cup of packed mint leaves
  3. 3/4 cup of fresh lime juice
  4. 1 1/2 cup of fresh OJ
  5. 1/4 cup of stevia ( last year I did a cut down of sugar in my diet and I love this natural sweetener you could use sugar or what ever substitute you wish-you'll NEED a lil something first batch I made with out ............

One of my early favorites smoothies was
 THE GREEN MONSTER!

  1. 1 1/4 cups fresh spinach, thick stems removed
  2. 1/2 cup frozen chopped pineapple
  3. 1/2 large apple (I like honeycrisp)
  4. 1/2 large banana
  5. 3/4 cup fresh  juice (I did half OJ/half grapefruit juice)
  6. 1 Tbsp honey (optional)
  7. Handful of Chai Seeds
another was Dr Oz's Berry Strong Smoothie
  1. 1 cup  spinach
  2. 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
  3. 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  4. 1 cup orange juice

There soon became a second twist-- I was on the hunt to drink the rainbow of smoothies.
