Kooking with Kayleigh ~~Christmas Edition~~

Making a Ginger Bread Man is a tradition we started three years ago





  • GINGER BREAD COOKIE
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons Ground  Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, 
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2  teaspoon All Spice
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoonPure Vanilla Extract

Baked and ready to be "DRESSED"

Adding all the piping...I'm glad she enjoys I have NO patience for it!

  1. How fun. I am 36 and never even made a Gingerbread house that I can remember. My son is 5 and I think we ought to this year!

    1. We've yet to make a real ginger bread house a few lil ones out of graham cracker and candies good way to start =)

  5. I used to love making gingerbread men and houses! Sadly, I have not had the patience to try since I had my son lol. Maybe this year!

  7. That looks so yummy! We just did our first gingerbread house kit but now we want to do one from scratch and little gingerbread men to give to neighbors this year. Tell her great job!

    1. I'm not so great with baking either --She gets the baking gene from Oma (my grandmother) she's loved baking with her starting at age 2!

  11. I have never made gingerbread from scratch. I love how the kids worked together to create it! I probably would have eaten all the gumdrops before they made their way to the cookie.
