#PROUDMOM Never Give Up-- Inspirational Quotes

Heading into her 8th year of gymnastics--my daughter is thinking of giving it up. While I know she really enjoys it I think she feels discouraged  because she's not learning fast enough--I had to bring out this post I did a few years back when she was having issues with the balance beam.

While watching my daughter doing the balance beam -this is the piece of equipment that made her quite 1/2 way through last year- "ITS JUST TOOOO HIGH"  I was reminded of some great inspirational quotes.

"Once you choose hope, anything's possible." - Christopher Reeve

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

So proud of her... she may have let her fear get her for a minute...but she tried again !!

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." - Dale Carnegie

After reading this post  my daughter realized things make take time but don't give up,try again, it will come to you! How do you encourage you children??

SCHOOLS OUT!! ~ do you continue learning at home??

School is out --

but do you still encourage you children to learn???

I was reading an artical about "SUMMER BRAIN DRAIN"...many intersting facts came to light-“Summer learning loss affects every child,” says Matthew Boulay, interim CEO of the National Summer Learning Association,
I was shocked some students can fall more than two months behind in both math and reading.

But what Boulay and other summer learning experts are quick to point out is that doing more of the same over the break (like going into assignment mode with those workbooks and drills) isn’t necessarily the best solution. Differing from the norm seemed to be a common resolve-Take a page from the homeschooling playbook by creating multidimensional projects that capture kids’ attention.

let kids loose on some math sites like mathcats.com
funbrain.com/numbers.html
and coolmath.com,coolmath4kids.com   my kids favorite

 If they like science-sciencewithme.com or
The Earth Science Enterprise  My daughter Loves the What on Earth? game!

Do you have "learning/school" projects you do with your children through the summer??

We do reading log and after they have 3 hours of reading logged in --at about 20 minutes a day its about every other week they get a treat. Small motivation works wonders!

Are there any other great learning sites you'd like to share? Ways you incorporate learning into your summer??

Thanks to MomCentralConsulting and the #KidsLiveWell Twitter Party our family was able to enjoy a nice healthy meal at Crackle Barrel-- and it's been
awhile since the whole family has gone out to eat.

The family had a super time...not only was the food delicious  and served with a smile. The kids didn't mind that it was  little busy so the food took a little longer to get to us. The things around  the store them kept them engaged so the time flew by.
What's more fun then  a giant
checkerboard outside in the big chairs!!

inside was entertaining as well
